The Municipal Act, 2001, under Section 290(1) requires that local municipalities “prepare and adopt a budget including estimates of all sums required during the year for the purposes of the municipality”.

Please Note - The 2024 Draft Budget will be available by end of day Feb. 1st,2024.

Budget Meeting Dates:

February 7 12:30pm - 4:00pm Draft Budget Presentation

February 8 9:00am – 12:00pm Draft Budget Presentation continued (February 9 @ 9:30 will be held for a further date if necessary)

February 20 9:30am - 4:00pm Budget Deliberations

February 26 9:30am – (part of regular Council meeting)

Public Question Period Instructions – February 20, 2024

On February 20, 2024, the public will be given the opportunity to address Council, CAO and Treasurer with questions on the 2024 Draft Budget, via Zoom Conference or in person. Each public speaker will be given 5 minutes to ask questions. When your time expires, your line will be placed on mute or the Mayor will advise that your time is up.

Submission of the questions shall be received in writing and addressed to the Deputy Clerk, Yolanda Melburn by February 13th, 2024 in order that there is time to answer the questions and that these questions can be placed on the agenda. If submitting by email please contact ymelburn@ahtwp.ca or by mail at: 10836 County Road 2, P.O. Box 70, Grafton, ON K0K 2G0.

Only questions specific to the 2024 Draft Budget will be addressed. You may receive a response during the meeting, however, Council and/or staff may follow up with a response at a later date to provide more detailed information.
